back to blogging! eventhough I was not writing anything these days, I used to check how people reach my blog (yep, I am little curious about that). About half my visitors come through google. Some searches like ’smooching beaches in chennai’ had also led people to my site
and I just thought that it would be a good idea to give people details about some nice places where (ahoy, stop guessing, you dirty mind! that was a bad guess.. read on! it wasn’t really it
) I had basked some real good food in chennai. Apart from my JLT thought there are no big reasons why I’m commemorating this!
The list is in no specific order. In short, a HashSet with no particular hashing algorithm
BTW, I am a veggie, but not a vegan.
I will start with the mobile parotta kadai which can be found somewhere near the IN gate of the ‘Le Royal’. One night, I along with my friend was searching for something to eat. It was so late and most restaurants had shut their doors. We had two options – The Le Royal and the Parotta Kadai. As I don’t like Le Royal’s restaurants, I opted the parotta for a change
hehehe. ahem! whew, it was really dainty. loved it! 1 parotta costed 3 rupees. I ate just 6 that day
I guess there should exist a canonical proportion of kathipara’s dust and carbon from vehicles in preparation which gave it a special taste
anyways I liked it a lot!
Review:- purse saving, no need of purse infact. One can manage with coins
. Bad spot for going as couple. Dont ever do that thinking off minnale! Boy, It aint that.
Next hot spot is Bombay Lassi behind Devi theatre. Lassis (NOT LASSIE
) are utterly butterly delicious
and so are samosas. Never miss this one if you are a food freak. I even have had 3 Lassis(NOT LASSIES again
) in a row amidst of the strange looks from the owner himself
Review:- Must go
Desire Chettinad restaurant next to kasi theatre(before the BSNL office) is one worth mentioning. It is a perfect blend of a road side shop and chettinad hotel. So, money is OK and the taste is great.
Review:- ****
Dosa kadai in pondi bazaar near vivekananda training institute is already famous. We can see people even with cars hanging out there in the evening. It has got a made up car parking, but still it is a road kadai. taste was good once upon a time. Now that, he has started concentrating much on quality
which eventually slimmed down the taste.
Review:- This could be a minnale style road side shop. you can go with your gf in bike / car / walk down / cycle wateva. no harms there in particular.
‘Hotel Limras’ on the way to vepery from purasawalkam, under the overbridge, near purasawalkam mosque is one famous shop in that area specializing in beef. My friends said it was good. I ate only egg and found it good too.
Review:- this is for hardcore non-veggies
Mami’s soups in west mambalam market – the next gen snack parlour in west mambalam area. Kondal kadalai and varieties of soups ranging from 5 to 10 rupees are worthy and good for health. this will serve as a better evening snack bar when compared to tea kadais.
Review:- health conscious fellas hit this out
Mylapore moorthy mess opposite to Mylapore flying station is the HSB of the poor. It is neat, it is clean, it is tasty, it is veg and it is cheap. 10 idlies costs about 15 rupees with three chutnies. It is a start-up.
Review:- Simply Veggie
Although the list is incomplete, this should be kinda OK for now. will try to post more in the future…
Please leave your favourite Road kadai shops too
will give it a try sometime
Blind Date September 7, 2007

Today, (nah, it was technically yesterday evening 7:00 PM) I went to Satyam theatre for ‘Blind Date’ – a thursday evening speciality show!
Until last moment, the movie name and cast would not be disclosed and that gives out a little thrill when screened. Unfortunately, for us (myself, Vinod (my colleague), Gopi (ex-colleague) & Prathap(ex-colleague) - no gals
as usual), they screened ‘Dhamaal’ or ‘Dhamal’ or watsoever @#$#@$. I dint even care for the name. It was a hindi comedy movie. Lead actor was Sanju baba. Many scenes were superposed from movies like ’Road Trip’, ‘Kadhala Kadhala’, ‘The Animal’ , …
Three of us don’t know hindi and one (Gopi) says that he knows hindi, but really he doesn’t
! I was spending my time by laughing at the heroic gestures of Sanju, other comedians, and by looking at the couples around who were flirting
! huh, the tickets costed around 410 Rs and snack around 175 Rs. my bad, next time back to 10 Rs tickets as usual at the back gate which I feel are really worthy.
Orkut is banned you fool, The administrators didnt write the program guess who did? MUHAHAHA September 7, 2007
Posted by karthicksundararajan in Orkut is banned you fool, WORM, fix, technical, w32.USBWorm.14 comments
I was pissed off when I saw this alert message repeatedly after I tried opening orkut in my IE. Yes, there was a WORM attack in my laptop.

Later I came to know that this was caused by a worm that spreads through USB drive devices.
So, here is how I cleaned it up! (definitely not on my own
but from yahoo answers and fellow bloggers – Herewith, I am giving a simplified, kinda mixed solution from more sites that worked good for me! )
- I, being provoked by my level-headed 3_years_IT_experience (yup!! yesterday, september 6th 2007, I successfully stepped into 4th year of my computer engineering career
), intelligently(??!!) switched off my javascript alert in browser thinking that it would be a temporary solution so that I can look for a permanent clean up. But it did not work.
- My set up is Win XP with IE7. For users who have browsers without tabs, you will have to copy this solution out into a text editor before trying since the browser gets closed automatically after the alert message pops up. For people with IE7 / Mozilla / Netscape 8, the browser will pop up a message if you have opened up multiple tabs whether to close ‘em all or not. you may give ‘no’ to retain the browser. But the alert will show up once in a while.
- Go to the task manager -> processes -> sort them by ‘Image Name’ -> delete all the ’svchost.exe’ with your user name under the ‘User Name’. DO NOT delete other ’svchost.exe’ tabs that has usernames as ’system, local service or network
service’
- Start -> Run -> C:\heap41a – this is a hidden folder. There will be some 8 visible files. Delete all the files in this folder.
- If you are not able to view/access this folder, then Start -> Run -> regedit ->
In the Registry Editor browse to this entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL and if you have “Checked all” key, then reset it back to 1 from 2. Now you can change the settings in the folders option to view hidden files.
- Now delete the folder C:\heap41a and clear all the key entries from this registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run which says heap41a.
The Worm would have gone by now. Autoplaying the USB driver caused this WORM to get into the reading computer. Make sure to format the USB drive before using it again. The name of this WORM is ‘w32.USBWorm’
This alerts us when we try to work with Mozilla or try to browse through Orkut and youtube sites
You can find a more elaborate explaination with code of the WORM here – http://www.jeba.in/posts/w32usbworm-lets-remove-this-worm-manually/
